Resources for Parents & Teachers
Holyoke Public Schools
The Holyoke Library and the Holyoke Public schools are working together to foster active literacy in the community in general. It is our hope that all Holyoke school age children will soon have library cards. For more information about how to get a library card, contact your child's school library, or visit the Holyoke Library in person. Parents and students may find these links helpful:

Explore Constitution and life at sea in 1812
The USS Constitution Museum’s free resources was created for schools and libraries in commemoration of the Bicentennial Anniversary of the War of 1812. The online game and educational resource, “A Sailors Life for Me!” invites students to join the fight for freedom on the high seas when they virtually enlist as sailors on board Constitution and travel back in time to the War of 1812. The supporting curriculum offers over 120 lesson plans, activities, and primary sources for the classroom that use history, science, math, art and language arts to explore Constitution and life at sea in 1812.
