Would you like to be our Friend?
Everyone is a Friend of the Holyoke Public Library. Why not formalize the
relationship? If you value books and reading you are invited to participate
in our projects and activities. As Friends, our purpose is to promote the
use of the Library and its many resources. One of our most popular projects
is the Annual Cocktail Party, held in April of each year. Proceeds from this
event are used for specific projects, such as strengthening the book
collection in special fields, sponsoring programs and activities that
enhance use of the Library and encourage reading, equipment and technology.
The Friends also sells book-bags, ornaments, and historic Holyoke tapestry
Meetings are held in September, December, March, and May, on the second
Wednesday of the month at 3:30 p.m. in the Library. Becoming a Friend is
easy. Just print a copy of the membership application and mail it with your
check to the Holyoke Public Library address. The membership application
is available online. Membership forms can also be obtained at the Library.
The Friends believe the library plays an exciting and extensive role in
our community. We invite your support. The cost is little; the rewards
immense.

The Friends of the Holyoke Public Library, organized
in 1983, was established with the purpose of promoting the use of the

We give financial support to the library for services, programming, and
purchase of equipment, furnishings, and materials. The Friends serve as a
voluntary arm of the library.
