Mission Statement

"The mission of the Friends of the Holyoke Public Library is to support quality library services in the community through fundraising, volunteerism, advocacy for library programs at local, state, and national levels, and close collaboration with the Board of Directors and the Library Director of the Holyoke Public Library regarding current and long-range projects."

We are "The Friends of the Holyoke Public Library" – an informal organization that helps support this library. We create activities that bring people to the library. We are friendly ambassadors and advocates for the library. We help with library fundraisers. We enjoy parties, too.

In 2015-16 we initiated two new fundraisers:  an on-going Used Book Sale in the lobby of the Library, and an April event called "Mini Golf in the Library! ¡Minigolf en la Biblioteca!"  Both have continued, and are now run by the Library, with assistance from Friends volunteers.

See the calendar on this library website for details of events held at the Library.
We welcome new volunteers, and new ideas about ways to support the library.
